July 23 - Escaping the Heat (AKA: More Museums) and Families Dinner at Piano Piano

Although Toronto is experiencing a heat wave, it's not affecting us much.  Thanks to Uber, all the fantastic museums and the pool in our building, we hardly notice!  Today we went back to the ROM to take in the Chihuly exhibit.  Pretty glass sculptures displayed in cool, darkness.  They're gonna love it (and they did).

After the ROM and lunch, Jack peeled off and I took the kids to the Bata Shoe Museum.  Yup, you heard that right.  A shoe museum. Again, great kids activities and curated very well for the younger set.  Really, what could be more relatable than shoes – especially for girls!   We completed the kid’s scavenger hunt, did the art project and then tried on some shoes in the wacky shoe gallery.  We didn’t learn much but it sure was fun!

We zipped home for a quick svim and then off to Piano Piano to get the all the families together again.  It was a lovely evening and the kids had a ball while the parents enjoyed each other's company!  Thanks to all for giving us your Saturday night!  The mom's peeled off after dinner for some more drinks and the Dads put the kids to bed!  I don't know who came up with that plan (me), but it was genius!  So fun!
