We set off from Brighton with a tear in our eye but also a spring in our step. It's sad to say goodbye to Grandma and Grandad (thank you for your amazing hospitality!) but it's fun to head to Toronto for a little time in my old stomping grounds, reminiscing with my university girlfriends. We stopped for provisions on our way to the condo and run into none other than Steve with 2 of his 3 kiddles! We were headed to see them later in the afternoon for a get together so Steve and I got a little head start in the grocery store!
After we checked into our condo and got used to a new (smaller) home base, we got cleaned up and headed to Lisa and Steve's for some fun. Penny, Chris and Aster came as well and the 3 girls (Aster, Maya and Charlotte) all got along famously (just like their mamas). It was refreshing to see that they were more interested in putting on a free-style performance (based very loosely on the Disney Princess cannon) than in the electronics-palooza that was happening in the basement. It always makes me proud when my kids hop in and start playing with a group of kids they don't know very well. I certainly couldn't do it at their ages! I think it will start getting harder as they get older but I'm just going to enjoy where we are right now!
It was a lovely visit and I'm so pleased that we will get the opportunity to hang out lots more on the Toronto leg of the Great Canadian Adventure! I miss you, my grrrrls!
